Brides and grooms
shove fists full of white icing
into each other’s mouths.
The video implores,
“Eat cake.
Be sweet. Be sweet.”
When there was no bread
She said
“Eat cake.
Be sweet. Be sweet.”
Dates and sugar

The vertical moment
which pours
past present future
into that soft ball
at the belly
of the universe
And then we return
Back to our regularly scheduled programming
